At this time of year, I’ve been doing lots of reflecting on the past year, as well as some future planning. This has got me thinking about why I started Leighton Jones Interiors earlier this year and what I love about working in e-design.
A Little Bit About Me
I currently live in the wee seaside town of Stonehaven in Aberdeenshire with my husband Alistair and our collie dog, Daisy. I work in my little studio at home, which is packed full of fabric samples, product catalogues and paint colour cards. The reality of online interior design means I actually spend most of my time in front of my computer. What I love about running my own business is the variety of things I do day-to-day. My time is usually spent designing beautiful spaces, writing blog posts, or managing spreadsheets. The best part is I get to drink unlimited cups of tea and blast my 90s pop playlist while I work with no one to judge my bad singing!
Why I Started Leighton Jones Interiors

I decided to start Leighton Jones Interiors because I wanted to make an interior design service that was actually affordable. I realised that, as much as I love expensive fabrics and designer furniture, not everyone has the budget to decorate their homes with these items. There is no need to sacrifice style when you are on a budget! There are so many lovely pieces of furniture, accessories and wallpapers available on the high street that are a fantastic price and also look amazing. Some of my favourites for style and affordability include H&M Home, Next and IKEA. Everyone should be able to have a home that looks well designed, stylish and tasteful without spending a fortune! It’s all about putting the right pieces together and styling things correctly to create something extra special.
So Why E-Design?

I love e-design as it allows me to work on exciting projects with people all over the UK, as well as those who are local to me. I work with clients virtually to create rooms that they really love and truly reflects their personality and lifestyle. For me, it’s also super flexible, meaning I get to spend more time with Alistair and Daisy Dog.
E-design is perfect for keeping things on-budget! I have set price packages, so there are no surprise charges. It’s also great if you’re happy to get stuck in with some DIY, decorating and ordering things yourself. You can find out more about how e-design works here.
